Single Vineyard Tumbarumba Pinot Noir
Wine
McWilliam’s Single Vineyard Tumbarumba Pinot Noir is made with fruit handpicked from a specially selected site at Tumbarumba in the New South Wales high country.
The fruit is chilled before being transported to the winery. Around a quarter is directed straight to its fermentation vessel while the rest is crushed and destemmed to tank.
After three days of cold soaking, the fruit begins fermentation. Gentle plunging slowly extracts colour, flavour and tannins. To complete the ferment, the wine is drained and pressed from its skins.
The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new and seasoned French oak. After maturing for six months, the barrels are blended and the wine is prepared for bottling.
Crimson red, McWilliam’s Single Vineyard Tumbarumba Pinot Noir has supple red fruit flavours, velvety texture and sappy tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
